Residents of Huron and Perth Counties have proved that pigs can fly, through their donations to the Canadian Cancer Society's recent fundraising campaign.
The Pigs of Hope drive has raised over $16,000 through donations made to plastic piggy banks placed in businesses across the two Counties over the past couple of months.
Society officials say the funds go toward easing the burden on cancer patients who face scheduled treatments, and their families.
They say the campaign also spotlights the Society's Wheels of Hope transportation program, that gets cancer patients to appointments for treatment.
The $16,000 raised will cover 320 round trips for patients who need treatment.
