People Before Politics

Goderich / Regional
by Jon Meyer

"Put Canadians ahead of politics"

That's the message from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Goderich chamber CEO Judy Crawford wants our politicians to wake up and focus on what's truly important.

Crawford says the Chamber is extremely concerned that politics seem to have taken the forefront when the entire world, not just Canada, is in the biggest fiscal downturn since the great depression.

She says this is no time for political posturing.

Crawford says we have politicians who think their lives are more important than are own economy.

She says it's probably one of the most dramatic things that has ever happened in Canadian politics.

Crawford has a message for members of Parliament;   it's time to stop playing political games and concentrate on the measures to immediately bolster investor and consumer confidence and restore economic growth.

She add's that Canadians deserve nothing less from the elected officials.
