Billboard for Cold Case

Sarnia
by Peter Jackson

A Sarnia family hopes to find closure in the death of one of their children in 1974.

The OPP, the victim's family, Sarnia Transit and a billboard company have posted a 50 thousand dollar reward in the unsolved murder of 14 year-old Karen Coughlin on March 16th, 1974.

An autopsy revealed Karen had been struck and run over by a vehicle on Plowing Match Road several hours after she was dropped off at a girlfriend's house in Sarnia.

OPP investigation determined she had been murdered.

Through DNA evidence police have since determined a suspect in her death is male.

Karen's death remains unsolved because several people of interest in the investigation have been eliminated as suspects through DNA testing.
