Poll States No More Immigrants

It looks like many of our listeners do not support the idea of Immigration Canada opening the doors to survivors of the Haitian earthquake.

The majority of respondents to our recent online poll say our country's financial donations to the devastated nation are enough.

73 per cent of the respondents to our news survey say Canada should not accept more immigrants from Haiti.

One respondent says it's just not the right answer with many Canadians already struggling to find jobs.

Another points out that in a perfect world we could accept anyone who wants to live here, but the reality is we don't have the resources to help our own people.

Another respondent says many Haitians want to stay in their own country and  rebuild it, so financial aid donations not help with immigration are the best idea.

However, 27 per cent of the respondents say Canada should accept more immigrants from Haiti.

One person says considering the emergency situation and need for immediate relief, we should open our doors.

And another says we have the room, resources, and wealth that Haiti never will and increasing immigration will save lives.

There were a total of 107 respondents to our recent online news poll.
